DRAGONS

Dragons, painted in 2007, is a large (60x48 in.) abstraction made up of pigments, mica and metals in polymer, on canvas. The dragon-like metallic figures float in an atmosphere of rich violets with rectangular “webs” of paint at the base, which Godfrey often uses to suggest a history and/or pathways of communication. The piece feels mythical and multicultural.
