Nathan Mulford was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah where he currently resides with his wife and two children. Nathan attended the University of Utah where he studied painting, drawing and graphic design. He finds inspiration for his work in desert landscape and historical artifacts. “My work is inspired by the role that the memory plays in our lives, how it influences our relationships, and the stories we tell each other about who we are. Each painting develops a history that is built with layers of paint, graphite, and other materials. As I create I reinterpret the work that came before and I seek to balance the forces of gravity and time.”
